Hi there, we are a team of pelvic floor physical therapists — and we are out-of-network.
What that really means is: We work for you, not the insurance companies. We get to spend more time focused on individualized, meaningful care during one of the most transformative times in your life — the postpartum period.
Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get nearly enough attention:
Postpartum healing is not “6 weeks and done.”
Whether you delivered vaginally or by cesarean section, your body has gone through a major event. Your pelvic floor — the group of muscles that support your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs — carried a baby for 9+ months. That alone is enough to warrant rehabilitation.
Then delivery happens, and those muscles are stretched, sometimes injured, or bypassed with major abdominal surgery (hello, C-section!). Either way, they need guidance to recover.
🌟 Vaginal Birth: What’s Going On Down There?
A vaginal delivery can lead to:
• Perineal tearing or stitches• Pelvic organ prolapse• Painful intercourse• Leakage from the bladder or bowel• Difficulty reconnecting with core strength
Even if your birth was smooth and without complications, the pelvic floor still needs recovery. We train for a 5K — so why wouldn’t we rehab after childbirth?
🌟 Cesarean Birth: Yes, You Still Have a Pelvic Floor!
There’s a big misconception that C-section = no pelvic floor issues. Not true.
During pregnancy, the pelvic floor worked overtime. And during surgery:
• Multiple layers of tissue and abdominal muscles are cut• Scar tissue can affect core function and posture• Breathing mechanics change• Many people experience back or pelvic pain afterward
Plus, you still lifted a growing baby for months!Cesarean parents deserve just as much support and rehabilitation.
✅ How Pelvic Floor PT Helps
Pelvic floor therapy in the postpartum period can help you:
✔ Restore core strength and deep abdominal muscle activation
✔ Heal diastasis recti
✔ Improve bladder control and eliminate “just in case” bathroom habits
✔ Reduce pelvic pain (sitting, intimacy, or returning to exercise)
✔ Manage C-section scar sensitivity and improve mobility
✔ Return safely to workouts, running, lifting, or sexual activity
✔ Feel strong and confident in your new body
And — huge bonus — early intervention helps prevent long-term symptoms that often become “the new normal” when left untreated.
💡 What Makes Out-of-Network Care Different?
When we work outside insurance contracts:
✨ You get longer, one-on-one sessions✨ No unnecessary hoops to “prove” you deserve care✨ Actual hands-on treatment every visit✨ A plan that adapts to your goals — not billing codes✨ Faster progress because your entire session is therapy (not paperwork)
Insurance often considers postpartum issues “expected” — but expected does not mean acceptable. You deserve the ability to sneeze, laugh, run, and be intimate without pain or leaking.
🍼 You’re Worth the Rehab
You are healing while also caring for a tiny human. That’s a lot. Pelvic floor PT is here to:
💛 Support your recovery
💛 Help you reconnect with your strength
💛 Remind you that your body matters too.
You don’t just have to “deal with it.” And you’re never too late — whether you’re 6 weeks or 6 years postpartum, healing is possible.
